Reactive Powder Concrete: Durability and Applications

Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is an ultra-high-performance (UHPC) developed years ago by Bouygues, with the aim to build strong, durable, and sustainable structures. Some differences can be underlined between RPC high-performance (HPC); that say, exhibits higher compressive flexural strength, toughness, lower porosity, permeability compared HPC. Microstructural observations confirm silica fume enhances fiber–matrix interfacial characteristics, particularly in fiber pullout energy. This paper reviews reported literature on RPC, it offers a comparison Therefore, some potential applications may inferred. For instance, examples of footbridges structural repair are given.
